Care Starts at Home: The Michigan Home Help Program

The Michigan Home Help Program, administered by the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services (MDHHS), enables eligible individuals—typically Medicaid beneficiaries—to receive in-home personal care services instead of moving into an adult foster home, nursing facility, or other institutional settings, and also allows them to hire a trusted family member or friend as their caregiver under certain restrictions. Click below to learn more or explore the official MDHHS guide for full details on how to get started!

Everything We Help With

The program provides assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as eating, bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and toileting, as well as Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) like meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, shopping for essentials, and travel related to those tasks. It may also include complex care services such as specialized skin care, catheter or wound care, suctioning, and ventilator or dialysis support as part of an approved care plan. However, services like heavy housework, yard work, home repairs, supervision without hands-on care, and most transportation (except for essential tasks) are not covered.
